What is a
Growth Policy Plan
In June 2026, Batavia Township begins the process on updating it's Growth Policy Plan, which is a long range community vision that is used as a roadmap to guide growth, development, and preservation priorities in a community. The plan reaffirms and establishes goals, policies, and strategies to guide land use, infrastructure and public services to ensure a sustainable future for residents and businesses.
STRATEGY
The plan identifies goals, strategies, and action steps on how the community hopes to achieve the identified vision.
LAND USE
A key element of a growth policy plan is an identified future land use map. This future land use map is developed through community engagement that is used to guide land use and zoning decisions
ZONING
The plan will inform zoning regulation policies and amendments to align future decision making with the identified vision.
